Data from the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that 6.407 million vehicles were exported in 2024, an increase of 22.7 percent year-on-year.  Exports amounted to $117.35 billion, up 15.5% year on year.  

According to the data released by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Japan's automobile exports in 2024 were 4.21 million units, down 5% year-on-year.  

Chery brand ranked first, 881,500 units, an increase of 23%.  The lead widened.  

MG was second, decreased 27.6%.  

BYD is growing at a high rate at 67%.  

Other brands with high growth rates include Geely, JETOUR, Haval, Trumpchi and Roewe.  

In January this year, BYD passenger car overseas sales of 66,336 vehicles, up 83.4% year on year, BYD Group has become the strongest growth sector, this achievement highlights BYD's global competitiveness.  

According to public data, the main destinations for Chinese auto exports in 2024 include Asia and Europe, with Russia, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates among the top three export countries.
